Stamps Of Armenia
This former Soviet republic is surrounded by Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Iran. It is at the time of the first Republic independent of Armenia exit of the Ottoman Empire, in 1918, after the Armenian genocide of 1915, which the first Armenian stamps appeared. In 1921, Armenia became a Soviet socialist republic and continued to emit her own stamps until 1923. 1992 had to be waited until to see reappearing of the Armenian stamps following proclaimed independence September 21st, 1991. On December 1st, 1991 the area of Haut-Karabagh declares its independence and emits stamps by 1993, creating a conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.?
